Running Technique

Running Technique requires a little know-how to improve. With running involved in so many sports, good technique is therefore a prerequisite.
As we move through the disciplines of running so technique and movement does change. A sprinter generating power will differ to the energy conservation of the ultra runner.  Yet the principals are the same.  Our technique sessions are generally one to one or groups to a maximum of three per coach.

  • Team Sports such as football, rugby, hockey and netball
  • Long distance runners
  • Track runners, middle distance through 10km
  • Road Running
  • Fell and Mountain.

These sessions are tailored to each individual or group, with much dependent upon their preferred discipline:

  • General Technique Improvement (running and all team sports)
  • Uphill and downhill
  • Technical terrain
  • Track and Road
  • Running with poles (see Trail Running Magazine, October / November 2022 issue, page 68)

We would always advise that you start with the general technique session as much of what is learnt here will be used in the later sessions.  This is something we are more than happy to discuss with you.
